Atom There are known about 100 elements, but not all elements with the highest numbers are usable. A lot of them exists only fragments of a second. An Atom exists of protons, neutrons and electrons. In principle every element exists of atoms with the same unique characteristics (number of protons, neutrons and electrons) Only 1 element has only one  proton and one electron, (Hydrogen). All the other atoms have in there basic state as many protons as neutrons and electrons. In every atom the charge of protons is positive and the charge of electrons is negative and the total charge is zero. It is not known why an atom stays in existance and protons and electrons stays apart and do not annihilate. Rutherford postulated in 1927 that a neutron exists of a proton and an electron and therefore the charge is zero. A neutron has no charge but the mass is bigger than the mass of a proton and an electron together. This difference in mass is caused by a force that keeps a proton and an electron together and isolates them to prevent self annihilation. It looks the same as in an atom where protons and electrons stay apart and do not neutralise. Thus one can say there are protons and electrons and some forces as strong and weak atomforce and this isolation force.  Until now the essence of this forces is not clear. In search for the mass of atoms and forces the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva is used to find the missing mass particle, the Higgs particle. However all the atom particles are charges, positive or negative. Mass is not a particle, sphere, pellet etcetera. The only possible conclusion is that the mass of a particle is caused by charge and that a negative charge is much smaller than a positive one. Charge having mass is strange and not easy to accept. Charge is mostly used as a mathematical tool without mass.
